Liverpool are set for for a busy week as the season transitions into the second half of the campaign, culminating in Sunday's Premier League hosting of Manchester United.

That is the first of two meetings against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in quick succession, with the pair facing off once again a week later in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Off the field, there is the usual distraction of the January transfer window and the noise that the market creates, particularly given the defensive issues for Jurgen Klopp.

Here's your latest Liverpool digest with two of our biggest stories from Tuesday.

Liverpool's 'little Lionel Messi' stuns fans

Arat Hosseini has stunned Liverpool fans once again with his latest video shared on social media, with the six-year-old tipped for great things despite his tender years.

Enrolled at Liverpool's academy, the youngster has caught the eye with videos shared on social media accounts run by his father on behalf of his son.

The page has gained attention from Messi himself and posts have been shared far and wide including by Hollywood actor Will Smith.

Arat's Instagram account has accrued an astonishing 4.6 million followers, including boxer Anthony Joshua, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand and Liverpool Champions League winner Luis Garcia.

In the most recent video, Arat leaves several opponents in his dust before producing a finish his Argentine idol or even Mohamed Salah would be proud of.

Daniel Agger issues transfer reminder

Liverpool are in the midst of defensive issues caused by injury and it can bring back memories of previous dealings done in the market.

On January 12 in the past, Liverpool have signed Steven Caulker on loan, a transfer which resulted in just four appearances, but have also signed Daniel Agger, back in the days under Rafael Benitez.

The Danish international was something of an unknown quantity when he arrived from Brondby for just shy of £6million.

Benitez predicted a 10-year spell for Agger at Anfield, which he finished 18 months shy of, but established himself as a cult hero on Merseyside.

He issued a reminder to supporters on the 15th anniversary of his move at the club, which also provides evidence that some transfers don't need to make immediate waves in order to create an impact.
