









Tokyo Olympics LIVE: Joe Choong and Galal Yafai win gold as pentathlon coach thrown out for punching horse
Tom Daley captured bronze for Team GB on Day 15 of the Tokyo Olympics, as Joe Choong completed a sensational double in the pentathlon with gold in the men’s event, following Kate French’s win in the women’s competition on Friday.
Galal Yafai continued a phenomenal Games for Team GB’s boxing team, winning gold against Carlo Paalam of the Philippines. There was a further medal for Team GB as Matt Walls, fresh from his omnium gold, added silver in the men’s madison final along with Ethan Hayter.
In the athletics, Josh Kerr won bronze in the men’s 1,500m as Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen won gold in a new Olympic record. Allyson Felix set a new Olympic track medals record as the United States completed a women’s and men’s 4x400m relay double, as Sifan Hassan completed a remarkable 5,000-10,000m double for the Netherlands.
There was a surprise bronze for Team USA’s Molly Seidel in just her third ever marathon but the Kenyans captured a one-two for gold and silver with Peres Jepchirchir and world record holder Brigid Kosgei.
Elsewhere, Kevin Durant led the USA to victory over France in the men’s basketball final, avenging a first-round loss to tally a 16th gold for the Stars and Stripes in a sport they have dominated at the Games.
