Tony Buzbee files to dismiss Jay-Z’s lawsuit against him
Both parties continue to lob accusations of lying across the legal aisle
Tony Buzbee anxiously wants the Jay-Z lawsuit against him thrown out of court due to alleged lies and technicalities.
Buzbee filed the legal documents in a New York court to have Hov’s case dismissed. In the court filings obtained by TMZ, Buzbee claims that Jay-Z reneged on a promise to provide a settlement check to the unnamed woman who said Jay and Diddy tag-teamed her sexually.
Jane Doe had claimed in her filing late last year — which she has since dropped — that both moguls drugged her and then sexually assaulted her at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in New York.
Judge ruled that Jay-Z lawsuit against Tony Buzbee will proceed to trial
As it stands today, a New York judge ruled that Jay-Z had enough evidence of possible legal malpractice by Buzbee to send Jay’s civil lawsuit to trial, much to Buzbee’s chagrin.
Buzbee the flamboyant and bombastic legal counsel for over 100 women in their civil lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs, claims he has receipts that Jay had initially agreed to pay off Jane Doe.
“On February 4, 2025, an agreement to resolve the litigation was reached between Doe and Mr. Carter, through their attorneys, which included the voluntary dismissal of the SDNY Action.”
Alex Spiro, Jay-Z’s attorney, rebuffed Buzbee’s claims as a “total lie.”
“He brought a false case, lost badly and was forced to dismiss quickly. End of story.”
Tony Buzbee claims he has receipts that Jay-Z lied
Buzbee’s legal team insists that they have email exchanges confirming that Jay-Z capitulated to a monetary agreement with Jane Doe.
“Spiro’s statement that there was no agreement is a total fabrication… As part of that agreement, Spiro agreed to withdraw the Rule 11 motions for sanctions that he had brought against Mr. Buzbee’s law firm.”
Continuing, Buzbee claims that Jay-Z also breached the alleged agreement between the two parties, saying that Jay-Z promised not to harass the family, only to continue the campaign of harassment even after the lawsuit withdrawal.
“We agreed to withdraw the lawsuit that Jane Doe had brought for rape against Jay-Z and Mr. Combs, even though Jane Doe continued to maintain that the allegations in that lawsuit were true,” Buzbee wrote. “Jay-Z and Spiro agreed not to send any more people to harass and intimidate Jane Doe and her family.
One week later, Jay-Z and his lawyer flagrantly breached that agreement by sending supposed investigators to harass and intimidate Jane Doe and her family.”
Spiro counters Buzbee, saying that while he admits that Buzbee reached out to inform him and Jay-Z that Jane Doe was dismissing the lawsuit, he contends that Jay never intended to settle and made that known to Buzbee.
Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson Dropped by Growing Number of Charities Over Epstein Email
Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson Dropped by Growing Number of Charities Over Epstein Email
ultiple charities have cut ties with Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, over an email she sent to the late Jeffrey Epstein, which saw her refer to the convicted sex offender as a “supreme friend.”
“We have made the decision to end our relationship with the Duchess of York, and as of today she is no longer a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust. We have communicated this decision to the Duchess,” a spokesperson for the Teenage Cancer Trust told TIME on Tuesday.
Julia’s House, a children’s hospice charity in the south of England, has ended its working relationship with Ferguson, confirming to TIME that the decision was made as “it would be inappropriate for her to continue as a patron of the charity.”
The founders of Natasha’s Allergy Research Foundation also severed ties. In a statement shared with TIME, Nadim and Tanya Ednan-Laperouse, said they were “disturbed” to read of the correspondence and, as such, had made the decision that Ferguson will no longer be a patron.
Prevent Breast Cancer, The National Foundation for Retired Service Animals, The British Heart Foundation, and The Children's Literacy Charity have also reportedly dropped all association with the Duchess.
“I abhor pedophilia and any sexual abuse of children and know that this was a gigantic error of judgment on my behalf. I am just so contrite I cannot say,” said Ferguson. “Whenever I can, I will repay the money and have nothing ever to do with Jeffrey Epstein ever again.”
In the email, she appeared to apologize to Epstein for her public commentary, telling Epstein: "You have always been a steadfast, generous, and supreme friend to me and my family."
A spokesperson for Ferguson is quoted as telling The Sun that the email to Epstein had been written after he threatened to take legal action and sue for defamation over her comments. Per the spokesperson, the Duchess “regrets her association” with the financier.
"This email was sent in the context of advice the Duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats," said a statement from her spokesman, issued when the email to Epstein was published over the weekend.
Epstein was initially sentenced to 18 months imprisonment in 2008 after pleading guilty to state charges—one count of soliciting prostitution and one count of soliciting prostitution from someone under the age of 18. He was in custody once more awaiting trial on federal charges for the sex trafficking of minors when he died in a New York jail cell in 2019.
Ferguson is the ex-wife of King Charles III's brother Prince Andrew, who was famously interviewed on BBC’s Newsnight about the nature of his own relationship with Epstein. Andrew visited Epstein in 2010, following the disgraced financier’s conviction and release from prison. They were photographed walking through Central Park.
Andrew was accused of sexual abuse himself by one of Epstein’s victims, the late Virginia Giuffre. He strongly denied the allegations. In January 2022, he was stripped of his military titles and royal patronages in the midst of a civil sexual abuse case brought forward by Giuffre. A month later, Andrew settled the lawsuit with Giuffre for an undisclosed amount.
An image of Prince Andrew alongside Epstein was projected onto Windsor Castle last week, as protesters rallied against President Donald Trump’s second state visit to the U.K. during which he stayed at the royal residence.
Led by Donkeys, the activist group behind the protest, also projected photos of Trump with Epstein, amid growing calls for Congress to release the full Epstein files. Trump's former relationship with the disgraced financier proved to be a firm focal point among some protesters in the U.K.
Trump and Epstein socialized together decades ago and their relationship recently came under the spotlight again after a birthday letter, alleged to have been signed by Trump and addressed to Epstein, was published. It was one of several letters said to be written by high-profile figures for a book celebrating Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003.

Paris Saint-Germain are champions of Europe! After defeating Brest in February (3-0, 7-0), Liverpool in March (0-1, 1-0, 4-1 on penalties), Aston Villa in April (3-1, 2-3) and Arsenal in May (1-0, 2-1), Paris Saint-Germain overcame Inter Milan in an epic final thanks to goals from Achraf Hakimi (12’), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (73’), Senny Mayulu (87’), and Désiré Doué (20’, 60’). Captain Marquinhos - the most capped player in Paris Saint-Germain's history in European competition with 107 appearances - and his team-mates added another title to an already historic 2024-2025 season and etched their name forever in the Club's history by winning the title for the first time. Paris Saint-Germain have won 37 trophies since the arrival of Qatar Sports Investments (QSI)
By combining the excellence of their youth with the strength of their team spirit, Paris Saint-Germain, the 24th club to be crowned champions of the competition, distinguished themselves in this year's Champions League by becoming the second-youngest winners in history, with an average age of 24 years and 3 months. The capital club were also able to rely on the variety of their attacking forces, with seven players involved in at least five goals in the competition (Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Fabián Ruiz and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia), a record this season.
Now winners of four trophies this season : The Trophée des Champions (1-0 against AS Monaco, on 5th January 2025 at Stadium 974 in Doha, Qatar), Ligue 1 by a 19-point margin, and the Coupe de France (3-0, against Reims, on 24th May 2025 at the Stade de France), Luis Enrique's men have won the Champions League, the second European trophy in their history, after the European Cup Winners' Cup (1-0 against Rapid Vienna on 8th May 1996 at the Stade du Roi Baudouin in Brussels). Paris Saint-Germain will continue their quest for excellence from 14th June when they travel to the United States for the Club World Cup.
Until then, an entire club, an entire city and an entire country can savour the moment. Born to shine, Paris Saint-Germain are European champions!
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, President of Paris Saint-Germain: "I am immensely proud of this first magnificent victory in the Champions League final, a historic moment for Paris Saint-Germain, for French football and for the city of Paris.
It is the culmination of an exemplary collective effort, driven by the commitment, team spirit and passion of all those who bring this club to life. There are many people who deserve to lift this trophy. I would like to thank the players, Luis Enrique, his staff, Luis Campos, and all those who, every day, build this ambitious and coherent project. This success is that of a united group, a loyal fan base that was able to experience its first final in the stadium, and a club that has never stopped believing in its dream.
This title, for all the generations of players, coaches and managers who have marked PSG's history, is an immense joy and an honour for Paris, for our institution and for all those who have supported the Rouge et Bleu for so many years."

Coco Gauff ‘proud to represent Americans that look like me’ in French Open final triumph
Coco Gauff ‘proud to represent Americans that look like me’ in French Open final triumph
Coco Gauff hopes her triumph at the French Open provides a glimmer of positivity for her supporters during a difficult political period in the United States as she clinched her first French Open title on Saturday.
Gauff, the second seed, demonstrated her mental fortitude by recovering from a set down to defeat the world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-4 and win her second grand slam title in Paris.
“Obviously there’s a lot going on in our country right now with things … like, everything, yeah. I’m sure you guys know,” said Gauff during her press conference. “But just to be able to be a representation of that and a representation of, I guess, people that look like me in America who maybe don’t feel as supported during this time period … just being that reflection of hope and light for those people.”
“I remember after the election and everything, it kind of felt like a down period a little bit, and my mom told me during Riyadh: ‘Just try to win the tournament just to give something for people to smile for.’ So that’s what I was thinking about today when holding that. And then seeing the flags in the crowd means a lot.
“Some people may feel some type of way about being patriotic and things like that, but I’m definitely patriotic and proud to be American, and I’m proud to represent the Americans that look like me and people who kind of support the things that I support.”
Gauff contested her first grand slam final aged 18 at the 2022 French Open, losing to Iga Swiatek, before defeating Sabalenka at the 2023 US Open to win her first grand slam title. She said that she struggled with anxiety and doubt in 2022, a complete contrast to the confidence she felt before this match.
“I just remembered that ceremony when Iga won, I just remembered trying to take it all in and pay attention to every detail and just feel like I wanted that experience for myself,” said Gauff. “So when the anthem got played, I vividly remember watching her pretty emotional when the Polish anthem was played. I was, like, ‘Wow, this is such a cool moment’. So when the anthem got played today, I kind of had those reflections.
“It was a tough time. I was doubting myself, wondering if I would ever be able to overcome it, especially my mentality going into that match. I was crying before the match and so nervous, and literally couldn’t breathe and stuff. I was, like: ‘If I can’t handle this, how am I going to handle it again?’ Then obviously the US Open happened, and now I just felt really ready today, and I was, like: ‘I’m just going to leave it all out there, and regardless of what happens, I can leave proud.’”
After also losing the Australian Open final this year in three sets to Madison Keys, Sabalenka is now 3-3 in grand slam finals. She did not hide her rage. Asked how Gauff made things difficult for her, Sabalenka credited her opponent’s framed shots and lambasted the windy conditions.
Sabalenka also claimed that Swiatek, who she defeated in the semi-finals, would have beaten Gauff on Saturday: “I think Iga … would go out today and she would get the win. Yeah, it just hurts. Honestly hurts. I’ve been playing really well, and then in the last match, I go out there and perform like I did. That hurt,” she said.
Speaking less than an hour after leaving the court, Sabalenka said she already knows plans for the next few days as she tries to get over this tough defeat: “I already have a flight booked to Mykonos and alcohol, sugar,” she said. “I just need a couple of days to completely forget about this crazy world and this crazy … if I could swear, I would swear right now, but this crazy thing that happened today.
“And I couldn’t today. I think everyone understands. I’m just trying to be very polite right now, but there is no other word that could describe what just happened today on the court. But yeah, tequila, gummy bears, and I don’t know, swimming, being a tourist for a couple of days.”
