Mexican Grand Prix RECAP: Max Verstappen beats Lewis Hamilton with Sergio Perez in third

Max Verstappen secured his second Grand Prix victory in as many races with a dominant win over Lewis Hamilton in Mexico City on Sunday. The Dutchman raced into the lead from third place on the grid at the very first corner, with the Mercedes pairing of Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas unable to lay a glove on the Drivers' Championship leader.

The Brit was condemned to a distant second-placed finish, with the Silver Arrows much slower than their Red Bull rivals in terms of race pace.

Meanwhile, Sergio Perez came home in third, with the Mexican driver achieving a podium finish at his home race for the first time in his career.

Bottas started from pole position but found himself near the back of the grid on the first lap after he was spun by Daniel Ricciardo at Turn 1.

The Finn's incident allowed Verstappen to open up a healthy gap in clean air and the 24-year-old did not look back.

Sunday's result saw the Red Bull man extend his Drivers' Championship advantage over Hamilton to 19 points, with just four races left to run in this year's battle for glory.
